HOW WE MAKE EXPORT LEVEL LEATHER AT AHL
The process begins with the careful selection of high-quality raw hides, a byproduct of the food industry. These hides are then transported to our partner tanneries where they undergo the crucial tanning process. This ancient practice stabilizes the protein in the hides, transforming them into durable, usable leather that is resistant to decay.
Once tanned, the leather is treated to achieve its final color, texture, and feel. Through a variety of dyeing and finishing techniques, we can create a vast range of leathers from the rich, deep tones of full-grain to the smooth, flexible surface of a top-grain finish, all while ensuring the leather’s natural character shines through.
With the finished leather ready, skilled artisans precisely cut the individual components of the product using specialized patterns. This step requires an expert eye to maximize the use of the material, avoid imperfections, and ensure that each piece fits together perfectly for a flawless final product.
The cut pieces are then carefully assembled. Using strong, durable threads and expert stitching techniques, our craftsmen meticulously join the pieces together. This is where the product truly comes to life, with every stitch contributing to its structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
The final stage involves adding any hardware, like buckles or zippers, and applying a final polish or protective coating. Before an item is packaged, it undergoes a final, rigorous quality control check. My father, with his decades of experience, personally oversees this process to ensure every product leaving Anyhorn Leather is a perfect representation of our commitment to quality.
